Welcome to My Personal Page
Hi,
Who would have thought that so many of our traditions would change this year. Almost everything is different. Yet, even in these crazy times I’m determined to keep one of my important traditions alive by Cycling 4 St. Joe’s.
I’ve been cycling a lot this year. Peddling hard helps blow away some of the anxiety of the times. My son thinks I’m a bit of a poser in my cycling gear but I’m proud to show my support for St. Joe’s even if I’m not riding as fast as some others.
Since March, I’ve watched our front line care providers do everything they can to look after our neighbours with COVID, those afraid they had it and all the other people who continued to turn to us for care while the pandemic raged. We had some dark days and our neighbours have jumped to help us when we needed it most.
Now we are gearing up for the Fall and what could happen. The COVID case #s are growing daily and I see the growing lineups of people waiting for testing. We also know that flu season is coming and that care will become even more complicated with COVID and flu coming at the same time.
The front door for care at St. Joe’s is our emergency department. It was last updated before SARS so really needs some improvements.
We’re looking to expand our ER by almost 50% and have more space including isolation rooms and better equipment that will come directly to our patients.
I hope you’ll help me by lending your support.
This September is my ten year anniversary at St. Joe’s. I’ve worked here longer than I’ve worked anywhere else and it's my honour to continue being part of this great place, full of caring and expert care providers. They need us to help them deliver on our St. Joe’s Promise of great care for our community.
I hope I can count on you to help me support them. Your donation will make a huge difference. To celebrate my years at St. Joe’s I’m hoping you might make a donation of $100, $200, $500 or even $1,000 to help me continue cycling to make a difference.
Your support means the world to me. Please consider lending a hand.
Thanks!
Maria
