Welcome to George's Page
Join me on September 26th and Cycle 4 St. Joe's. This year, in honour of St. Joe's 100th anniversary, I'm planning to ride the “100km ride” to celebrate this milestone.
You can support me by making a charitable donation to my page (just click the donate button) OR you can join my team and ride with me on September 26th!
I have been at St joes hospital for over 25 years and feel that the people that work at St Joes are what makes the hospital special. I cannot think of any other hospital where the staff go the extra distance for patient care. Our hospital has never been a facility that has received extensive funding and has the oldest physical plant of any hospital in the GTA..
As many of you that have been to the fracture clinic at St joe’s know, the clinic is very busy and many times is overcrowded with people spilling out from our waiting area into in the hall. Also, we are planning to integrate our Foot clinic into the fracture clinic this year in order to facilitate and streamline patient care. This will have the effect of increasing our volume and thus increasing the overcrowding. The hospital this year is expending the emergency department to better serve the needs of the community. This will undoubtedly add to the volume of patients we see in the orthopaedic clinic and make an already crowded location even worse.
This year we started ‘Team Fracture Clinic’. It is our hope that any funds received from the cycling event will go to planning and hopefully building an expanded orthopaedic clinic to best meet the needs of our patients while maintaining adequate social distancing.
This year many of my patients are participating in the ride. As a surgeon, nothing can please me more than to see patients that I have cared for returning to an active lifestyle. It is their involvement in the ride that has inspires me to ride the 100km and raise money for St Joe’s.
If you cannot join us, please feel free to make a charitable donation by clicking on the "Donate" bar. Thank you for helping St. Joe's keep the Promise for another 100 years!
